Maiming Investigation: 300 Block of Lincoln Street

The Hampton Police Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) in connection to a shooting that occurred on May 2, 2024.

At approximately 2:18 p.m., Public Safety Communications received calls in reference to gunshots heard in the 300 block of Lincoln Street. Officers were dispatched to the area and were unable to locate a victim. At approximately 2:44 p.m., Sentara Careplex reported a walk-in gunshot victim suffering from a non-life threating injury. Officers responded to the Careplex and contacted the adult male victim, who was suffering from a single gunshot wound.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was sitting inside his vehicle in the 300 block of Lincoln Street, when he was approached by three suspects. After words were exchanged, one of the suspects shot towards the victim. The victim was struck as a result.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation by members of the Hampton Police Major Crimes Unit.
