Maiming Investigation: 3000 Block of Montpelier Place

The Hampton Police Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) in connection with a shooting that occurred on April 4, 2024.

At approximately 9:36 p.m., Hampton Public Safety Communications received a call for a shooting in the area of Big Bethel Road and Towne Centre Way. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an 18-year-male, suffering from a gunshot wound in a vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital by members of the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue with a non-life-threatening injury.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim, was driving in the 3000 block of Montpelier Place when he was struck by gunfire. The victim fled the area and crashed in the area of Big Bethel and Towne Centre Way where officers made contact with the victim. Officers responded to a residence that was also struck by gunfire in the 3000 block of Montpelier Place. The residents, who were home at the time were not injured. The circumstance surrounding this incident is unknown at this time. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are currently investigating this incident.
